Hey AYC'ers this is Josh, I just wanted you all to get a look for the article I sent in for the witness today. Thanks again for making AYC Euro Tour such a great success. I love you all. Make your mission happen.
On July 16th the largest AYC team in the history
of the ALJC Apostolic Youth Corps embarked on a trip of a lifetime to impact
the nations of Ireland and Poland. All together we had 74 participants from all
over the United States travel to Europe. When the Lord laid this European tour
on my heart I had no idea that so many young people would want to participate
in our mission this year. I was somewhat overwhelmed by the large number. I was
worried about our team coming together in a spirit of Unity to reach this lost
in Waterford, Ireland and Krakow, Poland. So we as a team began to pray leading
up to the mission that God would bring us together in unity. The Lord answered
our prayers, despite being weary, jetlagged and busy from our demanding
scheduled our team was unified and passionate about sharing the gospel in the
streets of Ireland and Poland.
Our
first week was spent in Waterford Ireland with Missionary Potter and his
family. The Potters are making a difference in Ireland and have a great vision
to reach the lost in their city. Each night we held revival services at the
church with Evangelist James Chessor. We were thankful for the investment the
ALJC Evangelist department made in our mission this year by helping Evangelist
Chessor be a part of our mission. After a week of services we decided to do
something that we have never attempted. We planned an outdoor blockparty to
reach and preach in the streets of the city. I can now say that for the first
time in 1000 years the souls in Waterford have now heard the New Birth Message preached
in the streets of their city.
Our young people were not
intimidated traditions of the city, they were not afraid to share the good news
with people who walked up to listen to the music, receive a giveaway or just
curious to see what was going on. We even had a young man show up at the
blockparty and state that the Spirit of the Lord led him to our street service.
We connected and prayed for this young man at the blockparty. He was so
impacted by what he felt that he showed up to church the following day and went
out to eat with us after the service. I personally believe that religious mindsets
were broken in the nation of Ireland. By
the end of the week we had 9 people receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and
we witnessed 5 being baptized in Jesus name.
After a
week in Ireland we all jumped on an airplane and flew over to Krakow, Poland to
be with our Missionaries Tony and Rhonda Adams. The purpose of our mission in
Poland was to get the word out about the new work that Rev. Adams and his
family has started. We decided that we were going to flood the city with flyers
to inform the city about the new work. Everyone from our National Youth
President Rev. Chad Erickson to our youngest AYC participant hit the streets of
Krakow to pass out 30,000 flyers. Flyers are a big business and easily accepted
by the people of Krakow. We stationed ourselves at bus stops, metro stops and
busy intersections to pass out flyers. By the end of the week Bro. Tony had
already received 17 calls, emails or text messages from different people wanting
to meet with him for a Bible study or more information about the foundation
that he has started. Even if 1 person would have called all the work was well
worth the effort.
Perhaps
one of the most impacting segments of our mission each summer is when we have
the missionaries share their calling, passion and vision about the country God
has called them to labor in. Bro. Potter in Ireland shared his passion with
such a fire that many of our students wanted to come back and participate in
our AIA program to be an intern. When Bro. and Sis. Potter ended sharing their
passion I felt the Lord tell me to ask them what their greatest need was at the
moment. They told us about two things that I want to share with you.
The first need was that we pray for the souls
of Ireland that God restore a hope and a joy among the people. Pray that God
would give them a hope that they can believe and trust God like never before.
The second need they shared with us was about their physical church building.
They are currently renting the building they are in right now. We believe that
the Lord has given them an opportunity to purchase their church building.
Currently the building is in foreclosure and the owner needs to sell the
building for pennies on the dollar. They believe they may be able to purchase
the building for less than 150,000.00 USD. Please pray about giving to this
need. They are willing to put the church in the name of ALJC. Purchasing this
building would insure that our organization would have a church building in
Ireland until the Lord comes back.
Bro.
Tony and Sis. Rhonda shared their story with us in a prayer meeting at a local
coffee shop. Everyone was moved by what God is doing in their city. When Bro.
and Sis. Adams ended sharing their story the Holy Ghost swept into that coffee
shop. A spirit of intercession and prayer overwhelmed all of us. We all prayed
that the vision that God had given the Adams family would come to pass. For the
first time in the history of Krakow there was 80 Apostolics praying in the Holy
Ghost that God would break the chains of darkness and traditionalism in Poland.
We believe that God started a ripple effect in that prayer meeting that will
make a huge difference in Krakow and the nation of Poland.
I want
to say thank you to everyone who made this mission possible this year. Thank
you to our National Youth President Chad Erickson and his wife Fallon for
having such a great burden for missions. Thank you to all of our chaperones,
Taylor Fairbanks and Andrew Coffield for your assistance. We could not have
made this mission possible without you. Thank you to the Potter and Adams
family for hosting all of us. Our entire team wants to give a special thanks to
Brian Bowling and the Ohio District for helping finance our revival in Ireland.
We also want to say a very special thanks to Bro. Jeremy Hill from Knoxville,
TN for purchasing all of the flyers we passed out Poland. Your investment in
missions is already impacting lives.
Finally
I want to say thank you to all of our Apostolic Crusaders for being awesome. I
took the liberty to check out your Facebook pages to see what you said about
the mission when you got home. Here is what you had to say.
